Hideout Festival

Dates: 3-7 July 2022

Location: Zrce Beach (Pag Island), Croatia

Hideout Festival is one of the biggest electronic music festivals in Croatia. Since its inception, it has regularly been listed as one of the must-visit events in the country. Proof of that is the fact that every edition of Hideout has been sold out since 2011. The biggest reason for this in demand is the festival location, massively popular Zrce Beach. Not to discredit artists who performed, but Zrce just makes a perfect party destination. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Hideout 2020 was postponed to 2021. For more information about dates, tickets, lineup and everything else important when going to Hideout 2022, read our full festival guide below.

About Hideout Festival

Hideout has been held at Zrce Beach since 2011. In the beginning, the event lasted for three days. The first edition gathered about 10.000 people, but that number increased to over 20.000 in the upcoming years. Not to mention that the biggest names in electronic music are performed at festival stages. Nina Kraviz, DJ EZ, Rudimental, Skrillex, Skepta, Jamie XX and Stormzy are just some of them. Hideout is extremely popular among UK citizens, probably due to the fact that some of the organizers come from the UK. The event program includes beach parties, pool parties, as well as 12 boat parties. Boats are cruising in the bays around Pag Island. Hideout usually takes place in late June or early July.

Tickets

There are 2 types of tickets for Hideout 2022 – Standard and VIP tickets. A standard ticket gets you access to all 5 stages at Hideout, while VIP tickets offers avoiding the queues, access to VIP areas in the clubs, VIP bars and more. There is also an option to upgrade a Standard ticket to VIP, of course, for an additional fee. Tickets go on sale in 3 intervals. With each interval, ticket prices go up. Here are the prices for 2022:

StandardVIP
Tier 1 – 149 £ + booking feeTier 1 – 208 £ + booking fee
Tier 2 – 159 £ + booking feeTier 2 – 219 £ + booking fee

Hideout also offers flight and accommodation packages. This can be useful if you want to avoid the hassle of booking separate flight tickets. However, this is also a more expensive option than buying the plane tickets by yourself. Tickets can be bought on the official website.

How to get to Pag Island

By Plane

Zadar Airport (ZAD) is the closest airport to Pag Island, located 80km south of the island. However, depending on your location, you might also consider landing at Split Airport or Rijeka Airport. These two are a bit further away from Pag Island. Choosing the right airport depends on whether there are direct flights from your location to these cities. If you fly into Zadar Airport, you can take a public bus operated by Liburnija, which takes you to Zadar center. Once there, you can take a bus to Novalja. If you want to go directly from the airport to Pag Island, you will need to rent a car or arrange a private transfer.

By Bus

Pag Island is a pretty popular tourist location in Croatia. The good thing about the island is that it’s connected to the mainland with a bridge. This means there are plenty of buses going to Novalja town. There are dozens of bus connections to Pag Island: from Split, Zagreb, Zadar, Rijeka, Šibenik, and so on. All you have to do is reach one of the bigger Croatian cities and there will be a direct line to the island.

By Ferry

Since Pag is an island, there are a few ferry routes that can get you there. However, taking these routes is not really common, especially if you’re only planning to go to Hideout. One common ferry route is Rijeka – Rab – Novalja (Pag Island). This could be useful if you fly into Rijeka Airport. Another route is Prizna – Zigljen (Pag Island). This is useful if you’re traveling in your car from northern Croatia. All in all, if you’re trying to get straight to the festival, taking a ferry is probably not an optimal solution. You can check the schedule for these routes here.

How to get to Hideout Festival

Hideout festival venue is located at Zrce Beach, which is on the northeastern part of the island, protected by the bay. All the buses arrive in Novalja town, which is about 3.5km from the beach. Therefore you would need to take a car or transfer from Novalja to Zrce Beach. We don’t recommend walking there, as it can be extremely exhausting, especially in that summer heat. To see the exact location of the venue, please visit our map at the end of the post.

Accommodation

There is no camping area at the Hideout festival. That means you will need to arrange your own accommodation. But no worries, as there are numerous units available to rent. Pag is a very popular Croatian island, which is why you’ll be able to find private accommodation, hotels, motels, and apartments nearby. We recommend booking everything on time, as prices go up as the festival season approaches. Also, property owners are keen to increase the prices during the festival dates.

What to see while at Hideout?

We understand that most visitors plan to just go to the festival and party all day and all night. However, this might be a good opportunity to explore what more the island has to offer. Here are some ideas on how to kill time when you are not on the beach.

Pag Town – the largest town on the Island and a historic place with a small but charming Old Town. Here you can visit the 18th century St Mary church. The thing you shouldn’t miss is trying some of the Pag specialties, like world-class Pag cheese and lamb.

Beaches on Pag – besides Zrce Beach, Pag is well known for its beaches. Prosika, Čista, Ručica and Trinčel beach are just some of them. If you want to get away from the crowd for a few hours, these beaches might be a good choice.

Scenery – Pag Island is probably the most unusual of all Croatian islands. Its landscape resembles the surface of Mars. This is why several car commercials were filmed on the island. The best way to explore the scenery is to rent a bike or a scooter. Roads on the island are perfect for a bike ride, and the views are amazing. Highly recommended!
