Dry Cleaning coming to InMusic #15

Critically acclaimed London band Dry Cleaning is confirmed as the latest addition to the InMusic festival. The band will embark on a tour, following their debut album New Long Leg.

Dry Cleaning is a post-punk band formed in 2018 and fronted by singer Florence Shaw, bass player Lewis Maynard, lead guitarist Tom Dowse, and drummer Nick Buxton. The band is recognized as one of the most intriguing young groups, characterized by the specific vocals from Florence Shaw. The singer’s unique voice is accompanied by the post-punk sound given by the rest of the band.

The band’s first single Magic of Meghan was issued in 2019 and was subsequently followed by 2 EPs, Sweet Princess and Boundary Road Snacks and Drinks. Dry Cleaning immediately drew comparisons to bands like Joy Division and Wire. Backed up with critics’ praise, the band signed to 4AD and starts working on a debut album. New Long Leg was released in April 2021 and produced by the long-time PJ Harvey collaborator John Parish. The critics praised the album for its intriguing lyrics and the calm and cold vocals of Florence Shaw. The album rose to No.1 on the UK Independent charts, and to No. 4 on the UK All-Genre.

Dry Cleaning now joins already confirmed artists for the InMusic festival – The Killers, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Deftones, Kasabian, Royal Blood, IDLES, White Lies, Fontaines D.C., Gogol Bordello, Amadou & Mariam, Sleaford Mods, and Hinds. The festival will last for 4 days, and tickets are on sale now. If you attended InMusic in the previous years, then you’re eligible for a discount. Check the official festival website for more info.
