Dimensions and Outlook were the largest Croatian festivals in 2021

250 artists and over 5000 visitors came to Dimensions and Outlook festivals in 2021. Considering the current situation, festival organizers should be happy with the results.

After spending 10 years in Pula, both festivals relocated to more intimate venues in The Garden Resort, in Tisno. Moreover, 2021 was the first year for these festivals in the new location, as 2020 editions were canceled. The initial festival dates were rescheduled from June to September because the country was still on the so-called Amber list. That meant that visitors from the UK needed to spend 2 weeks in quarantine, in order to enter Croatia. This was a major problem for organizers, as almost half of the visitors asked for a ticket refund. The main reason for that was the change in plans visitors had to make. Another bad circumstance was that the summer season already started, and festival-goers usually plan their trips much more in advance.

The Festival program took place on three stages (Dimensions), and four stages at the Outlook festival. The three stages named Beach Stage, Olive Grove, and Wabi Sabi were placed for Outlook, while an additional Main Stage was set up for Outlook. Apart from the daily program, there were a couple of boat parties, as well as after-parties in the Barbarella’s club.

A little over 100 artists performed at the Dimensions festival, the majority of which were household names. The festival was opened by Ilija Rudman, followed by Petar Dundov, and other notable names like DJ Bone and Hacker. After parties in Barbaralle’s were marked with the stage takeover by Return to Disorder label. DJ Stingray 313, Le Chocolat Noir, and Zarkoff all performed in the club. Younger artists were led by Maricas Crew, DJ Saoirse, D. Tiffany, rRoxymore, ISAbella, and Melina Sarser, followed by Gigi FM, Score Zero Zero, and Frikenstein.

Outlook festival followed two days later, now known under the new pseudonym Outlook Origins. Some of the well-known crews performed and were accompanied by new artists who recently broke onto the scene. Deep Medi, Digital, Mungo’s Hi Fi, Iration Steppas, and Metalheadz are just some of them. The festival venue was moved at the last minute, from the St. Michael’s Fortress in Sibenik into the Barbarella’s club. Chase & Status, Children of Zeus, and Noisia all took the stage, while takeovers were done by Deep Medi Crew, Dispatch Recording, and Sofa Sound.

All in all, over 100 musicians performed at Dimensions, and over 150 at Outlook, making these two festivals the largest outdoor-indoor concerts in the last year and a half.
